Message from the Mayor

When we ran the inaugural Tuscaloosa Mayor’s Cup six years ago we knew we were running for two good causes – our own health and Tuscaloosa’s youth. Since then, we have raised nearly $80,000 for the Tuscaloosa Pre-K Initiative.

It has been one of my core beliefs that all academically at-risk four-year old children deserve the opportunity for a highly effective pre-k education. Currently, the Tuscaloosa Pre-K Initiative consists of 21 Pre-K classroom units across nine Tuscaloosa City elementary schools, and more than 250 at-risk preschool students are being served by the Tuscaloosa City Schools Pre-K program.

2) Race Day
    7:00am - 7:45am
    Government Plaza
